The Salesians of Don Bosco has always been at the forefront of carrying out development activities aimed at the weak and marginalized sections of the society. Keeping up this tradition, DBIM actively involes itself and its students in a number of initiatives. The most notable initiative in this regard is Prajjwal. In addition, all MBA students are members of the NSS - National Service Scheme.
The objective of Prajjwal is to sensitize the society to different aspects of the society and social issues, thereby contributing towards inclusive growth.
The village of Joypur and the areas in its vicinity, have a pre-dominance of low-lined income groups who are deprived of exercising some of their basic needs and demands. In a survey, it was witnessed that most of the school going children could not opt for proper tuitions with family income as the common barrier. The forum, Prajjwal zeroed in, on catering to one of the basic needs of the school children, by organizing free education workshops during the weekends. And this was duly emphasized in the cultural programme, hosted by Prajjwal. The audience, consisting of students, parents and curious onlookers were all enthralled by the whole idea behind the programme. The children-students of Joypur took active part in the proceedings of the programme. Everyone wished a quick and healthy start to the Prajjwal activities.
With the above objective in view, the Prajjwal team of DBIM, Ghy took upon the initiative to bring the inhabitants of Joypur village to the same common platform, whereby the much needed bond can be developed. ‘Invitation cum self-fill up info’ cards were distributed through-out the different house-hold of the area, inviting the people to the Joypur Primary School premises on March 12, 2010 at 3.30 pm. ‘Active Interaction with the people’ was the main motive behind the whole programme, so that the stockholders of DBIM, could very well understand the problems and issues the local inhabitants are facing, gel with them and provide feasible solutions.

Campus Buzz, as the name suggests is a communique of Don Institute of Management meant to connect and keep in touch with friends, alumni and well wishers.
A lot happens at the DBIM campus throught the year and it is difficult to sum all these events up in a single communications. Hence, the only way to keep stakeholders abreast with all the buzz in the campus was to come out with this communique and publish it online on a regular basis.
This communique is the outcome of the creative effort of the staff and students at DBIM. The first issue was released on October, 2017. New issues are usually released around the months of January and June.
Being together is not a matter of habit but a question of choice.
DBIM Konnect, as the name suggests is a news magazine of Don Institute of Management meant to connect and keep in touch with friends, alumni and well wishers.
Being connected to the past is a beautiful way of maintaining the vitality and growth of the Institute. That prompts us to communicate with you through this magazine. It’s a way of recalling the memories of the past and being refreshed by the energy it creates in us to keep us together. Thus DBIM Konnect becomes a bridge between the past and the present and an enabler for the future.
This magazine is the outcome of the creative effort of the staff and students at DBIM and will be released on a yearly basis. The first issue was released on Jan 28, 2017 during the 1st DBIM Alumni meet.
Being together is not a matter of habit but a question of choice.
The decision to start the DBIM's e-newsletter was the easiest part, the difficult part was zeroing on the content, the looks and the overall concept behind it. After lots of brand storming, it was decided to center the newsletter on the core theme "Rising", symbolizing the rise of DBIM in the management education scenario. The rising sun symbolizing the force and power, which no one can easily ignore, and so is DBIM.
The rising new technology of Android in the mobile world was one of the topic that interested us, the viral marketing was also a development which was interesting for MBA's and hence was included. We also covered "Happiness Index", because we also think our social sensitivity is also an important aspect of our management teaching. We also tried to through light on few rising "Women Power". Briefly we touched some powerful logos and their hidden meaning.
In the students corner, we tried to give an opportunity to the literary side of the students by including their experiences. In a lighter mode we took accounts of some enjoyable moments of students of DBIM, a picnic, a study tour or celebration of cultural day.
In conclusion, an attempt has been made through this newsletter to introduce DBIM to the business world. To give an insight to what our young management students think, what interests them, and what is their view of various market scenarios. We assume that, we are going to make some mistakes in our first attempt. But, you do mistakes only when you do something. So, we believe perfection will come one day with our hard work, dedication and strong will. So, there has to be a beginning and this issue of "rising" is the beginning to the story of another rising.
