"Life is like a library owned by an author. In it are a few books which he wrote himself, but most of them were written for him."
"Julhash Ali Library", the epicenter of learning of DBIM, is located atop the Ramsai Hills, surrounded by the pristine waters of the Brahmaputra. The library is an integral part of Don Bosco Institute of Management and came into existence in June, 2009.It is funded by the Julhash Ali Foundation and was set up by an initiative of Mr. Iftikar Ali, son of Lt. Julhash Alihash Ali who presently resides in the US and is a venture capitalist by profession. A long cherished dream of a fully equipped library in DBIM for providing students wide plethora of treasured books, journals for consultation and research finally materialized with his Excellency Shri J.B. Patnaik, Governor of Assam inaugurating the new library on October 8, 2010.
As envisioned, the Julhash Ali library shall encourage the acquisition of innovative contemporary skills coupled with the knowledge and research in management and allied subjects. It will act as the knowledge hub and gateway to quality education of the youth in entire North Eastern Region and evolve as a repository of scholarly contents of research.
Julhash Ali Library forms a platform for educational excellence by providing opportunities for academic and personnel enhancement. The library accomplishes the goal by delivering wide access to digital and printed information in a single portal.
Don Bosco Institute of Management celebrates the Julhash Ali Library Foundation day every year. The events and competitions start at least a month in advance and finally culminates in a lively one day program commemorating the foundation of the library. The highlight of the day have been some very colourful and wise performances by the students of the institute. The special attraction of the whole celebration is the Julhash Ali Library Quiz Competition. The competitions held are primarily for the MBA students of DBIM and the vocational training students of DBI.
